Texas Tech might not have hit the national radar yet when it comes to any beliefs about who might be able to do damage in the College Football Playoff, but no one in America is playing better.
Five games, five wins, no one has come closer than 24 points of this crew. It's been about as close to flawless as possible, but now it has to deal with a dangerous Kansas team with the firepower to pull this off
At 2-1 in the Big 12 and 4-2 overall, this is massive. Win, and with home games against Kansas State and Oklahoma State up next, the Jayhawks can become a factor.

Texas Tech might be dominant so far, but outside of the great performance at Utah, it hasn't been pushed by anyone with a big offense. That might change, fast.
There's no way this works without putting at least 35 on the board, and even that might not be enough.
Kansas can strike fast, move fast, act fast, and it can bomb its way back into games with Jalon Daniels and the passing attack, and when the ground game is working, look out. But ...
The defense has been remarkable.
The offense is efficient, keeps things moving, and. is able to do whatever it must to take games down. But it's the other side that's putting games away.
As good as the Kansas offense is, it's not a sure thing in the red zone, and it's shockingly bad on third downs. Texas Tech isn't giving up a thing against the run, and it won't be starting this week, so ...
The Kansas defense isn't good enough.
It's fine, and it should be able to hold on here and there the rest of the season to pull off a few fun wins, but it won't be consistent enough in this to get it done.
The Kansas offense will let it rip. The offensive line will give Jalon Daniels plenty of time to work, and he'll keep pressing to make Texas Tech try.
And then the Red Raiders will take one turnover and turn it into a scoring run to finally put the Jayhawk threat down.
