When you have a conference with 16 teams, someone has to struggle. At the moment, that's South Carolina, and Kentucky is a loss away from being thrown in that bucket.
The Gamecocks have an NFL quarterback in LaNorris Sellers, a ton of experience, and through-the-roof expectations that went bye-bye over the last two weeks in losses to Vanderbilt and Missouri.
Lose here, and with LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M coming up next, forget the CFP and the SEC race, just getting to a bowl will be tough.
Kentucky wasn't bad in the loss to Ole Miss, and it's still just 2-1 and rested after an off week, but there's a trip to Georgia next week, followed by Texas, Tennessee, and a date at Auburn.

It's had two weeks off to get ready, and it's not in crisis mode like South Carolina is.
There's that sense of urgency around the Gamecocks that only comes from losing two straight conference games in September. They'll be pressing, and so far, that hasn't worked.
What's the problem? South Carolina looks like a team that's playing with the weight of the world on its shoulders.
Converting on third downs seems impossible, the penalties are flowing, and Sellers hasn't been able to find a groove because the offensive line is letting everyone live in the backfield.
Kentucky has to score early, and ramp that in-house pressure up even more.
LaNorris Sellers, you're a future franchise-maker for some NFL city. This is where it starts.
The last two weeks have hardly been his fault. He's getting the ball down the field, and he's trying to make things happen despite getting knocked out of the Vanderbilt loss, but he needs help.
The Kentucky secondary got torched by Eastern Michigan, Ole Miss ran the ball too easily, and it's all because the Kentucky line doesn't generate any pressure. As long as South Carolina can take a deep breath and make the plays that are there ...
The team is better than this.
The Vanderbilt loss seemed to throw everyone for a loop, but this is where Sellers should shine. Now it's about whether or not the Gamecock lines step up.
Kentucky will run a little too easily on the South Carolina front, but after the Missouri game, the Gamecock defense will step up its play a bit.
And then it'll be up to 16 to save the day.
