Alabama safety Keon Sabb is returning to Tuscaloosa for his final year of college football, but something will be different for him this time around. His younger brother, Amari Sabb, will also be joining the Tide for the 2026 season.

Keon Sabb has played the role of a major contributor on Alabama’s defense over the past two seasons, albeit with some roadblocks. The New Jersey native originally committed to Michigan and spent two seasons in Ann Arbor before transferring.

He then found his home in Tuscaloosa under new head coach Kalen DeBoer, who he beat in the national championship in his last season with the Wolverines. His first season went decently, considering he only played in seven games before suffering an injury.

During his junior season with the Tide in 2025, he recorded 52 total tackles, a sack and an interception. Wanting to improve and attempt to win another championship, he decided to run it back for 2026, but this time alongside his brother.

Amari Sabb, a three-star athlete out of New Jersey, decided to commit to DeBoer and the Crimson Tide to play wide receiver, reuniting with his brother. Keon Sabb spoke about what getting to have his little brother with him again means to him.

“That’s an amazing experience,” Keon Sabb said. “Having my little brother here with me, last few years, I’ve been away with college and stuff like that. He’s been playing with his younger brother as well, so now I get a chance to do it with him.”

But Keon Sabb also made it clear that his brother is coming to do his job and explained what he’ll bring to Alabama.

“He’s very explosive,” Keon Sabb said. “Short area quickness is a really big thing for him.”

However, Keon Sabb seems a bit more excited about showing his brother the ropes than about what his brother has to offer.

“My approach? Be physical,” Keon Sabb said. “You know, I’m big brother, he’s little brother, so it’s physicality… He’s a good guy, he’s talented. Even my younger brother thinks he can mess with me, but I’m top dog.”

One thing is clear: both Keon and Amari Sabb are extremely talented. While Amari Sabb may not see as much playing time in a loaded wide receiver room, the competition between him and his brother will only breed great competition.

By the time Keon Sabb is gone, it may be Amari Sabb’s turn to make his name known on the field, while also potentially recruiting his younger brother, Xavier Sabb, who is currently rated as a 4-star wide receiver in the class of 2027.
