The transfer portal has been quite important to roster building around college football this offseason. That is now the norm. For the LSU Tigers, they boast one of the most impressive transfer classes, and their offensive weapons gained through it are a big reason for that.
One of those additions will miss a bit of time now, unfortunately, though. Luckily, there is a positive side to this otherwise negative news.
Transfer LSU wide receiver Nic Anderson was involved in a car accident on Friday night and needed medical attention, according to HC Brian Kelly. The Tigers coach doesn't expect him to be sidelined very long. Anderson is expected to be ready at the start of fall camp for the Bayou Bengals.

It is no secret that the former Oklahoma Sooners wideout will play a notable role for LSU this season. He, along with multiple other transfer pass catchers, will be incredibly important for Heisman hopeful quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.
Really looking forward to seeing what former Oklahoma WR Nic Anderson does with LSU in 2025. Missed almost all of 2024 with a quad injury but has a great combination of size and speed. I see some Christian Watson to his game pic.twitter.com/VKJtMAx59r

If you take a gander at the Tigers offensive depth chart as of now, you'll see plenty of transfer talent. Anderson is one of those names with the most upside. Alongside him, Barion Brown is one of the most shifty, exciting pass catchers and special teams returners in CFB. Destyn Hill also joined the WR room as a transfer this offseason, from Florida State.
Anderson's role, as a taller receiver, will absolutely be a downfield target for Nussmeier. Some of the other receivers around him do not possess that sort of stature and jump ball catch ability.
I'm incredibly interested to see a healthy Anderson in the Tigers offense, so they should give him as much time as necessary to allow him to return at full strength following this accident.
