Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs have dropped the ball on the nation's top recruit from the class of 2027, LaDamion Guyton.
The Bulldogs were in a close recruiting race with Texas Tech to land the five-star edge from Savannah, GA, but ultimately lost the battle to the Aggies.
According to On3's Hayes Fawcett , Guyton committed to Tech over the Bulldogs, Tennessee Volunteers, and Florida State Seminoles.

"They do a very good job of making you feel like you're one of their players already when you're in the building," Guyton told ESPN. "It's a feeling that draws you in. They have things going in the right direction, and it's exciting knowing I'm going to be part of that someday."
While missing out on the country's top prospect is a bummer for the Dawgs, there is still plenty of time to stack their 2027 roster. For now, they only have two players committed for that year.
Georgia currently boasts the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class and has 31 players committed to their recruiting class of 2026:
