Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs may have come up short in their pursuit of offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, but their search for elite talent to bolster next fall’s roster is far from over.

In fact, On3's Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfond project the Dawgs will land not one but two top tight ends from the class of 2026.

Both college football insiders see five-star tight ends Mark Bowman and Kaiden Prothro committing to Georgia.

“I like the Bulldogs for Bowman," Wiltfong wrote

Bowman is quickly establishing himself as one of the premier tight end prospects in the 2026 recruiting cycle. The 6-foot-5 and 230-pound rising junior logged 42 catches for 715 yards and nine touchdowns in 2024, flashing his big-play ability and red-zone dominance. Bowman currently holds offers from numerous Power Five programs and is receiving strong interest from Georgia, Texas, and Ohio State.

As for Prothro, Simmons thinks Georgia simply makes sense because he has been on multiple visits to Athens.

"Georgia is the in-state school, it is the school he has visited the most, including a quiet visit he took earlier this spring, and that would be my pick of who has the best shot today," Simmons wrote about Prothro.

Prothro, a 6-foot-2 and 195-pound has experience lining up at wide receiver, defensive back, and returning kicks. The upcoming junior recorded 1,020 all-purpose yards and 11 total touchdowns, while also adding three interceptions on defense last season. Texas is also heavily eyeing Prothro.

While landing two top tight ends in the same recruiting class may seem too far-fetched, it certainly isn't out of the question, especially with Georgia having the money to spare after missing out on Cantwell.
