The Chicago Cubs were one out away from beating the Miami Marlins on Monday night until Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez had other plans.

Sanchez hit a game-winning two-run triple in the bottom of the ninth to drive in outfielder Derek Hill and infielder Javier Sanoja to give the Marlins the 8-7 win.

That capped an impressive performance from Sanchez. He hit a 409-foot home run to center field in the first, drove in four runs and scored two runs. It was his fourth career walk-off hit and first since an RBI single against the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 6.
Sanchez became the second player in franchise history to have a lead-off homer and walk-off hit in the same game, joining Hanley Ramirez in 2010.
Coming into Monday, Sanchez had two home runs and 12 RBI in 28 games. His game-clincher reversed the course from Tuesday when the Marlins were on the losing side of a walk-off against the Cubs.
Although the Marlins (19-27) remain in the basement of the NL East, they have now won four of their last five games and seem to be establishing some momentum.
Sanchez once again proved his value at the plate in clutch situations and started the three-game series with the Cubs on the right foot.
