Kirby Smart takes jab at Johny Manziel while reflecting on time at Alabama

Kirby Smart could not miss out an opportunity to take a jab at Johny Manziel while reflecting back on the best quarterbacks he faced at Alabama and Georgia.

Smart spoke recently at the Nike Coach of the Year Clinic. He referenced Cam Newton, Bryce Young, Johny Manziel and Joe Borrow during a presentation and asked the crowd what the quarterbacks have in common. One answer was all of them being champions.

“He ain’t no champion. Champion of what? Champion of fireball,” Smart jokingly replied while referencing Manziel.

Smart went on to say all four quarterbacks gave his defenses problems. Manziel defeated Alabama when Smart was the Tide’s defensive coordinator.
