Kirby Smart’s Program Faces More Scrutiny After Latest Arrest

It was nearly inevitable to hear another Georgia football commit made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

This time it’s Seven Cloud, the dominant defensive lineman headed to Athens, now facing a domestic battery charge stemming from an April incident in Butler County.

Cloud appeared via Zoom before a judge on Monday, July 14, and was formally charged with a Class B misdemeanor, a charge made official after probable cause was found, and he was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim.

Cloud’s legal troubles aren’t an isolated hiccup. In late March, he was involved in a separate incident involving alleged damage to his significant other’s phone, resulting in a disorderly conduct charge. Now he’s expected back in court on September 22.

This marks yet another unsettling chapter in what’s becoming a painfully familiar pattern at Georgia under Kirby Smart. From domestic incidents to off-field chaos, it seems nearly every month brings a new scandal tied to a Bulldogs recruit or commit.
