Kyle Whittingham Officially Set to Return for 21st Season with Utah

After a full season of speculation surrounding the legendary head-coaches future, Kyle Whittingham has officially decided what his next move would be.

The 65-year-old head coach has long been expected to retire, mostly because he said he wouldn't be coaching past 65. However, following utah's 5-7 season, the head coach made it clear that the job is not yet finished. He officially announced his return with a two-word statement.

The statement read, "I'm back."

Whittingham, who is coming off the heels of the "most frustrating season of his career" will enter the 2025 season with a revamped coaching staff as former New Mexico offensive coordinator Jason Beck has taken over as Utah's new offensive coordinator.

Coach Whitt will also go into the 2025 campaign with a completely revamped roster as the majority of the senior class has departed and a slew of out-going transfers including Isaac Wilson and Brandon Rose call for a transfer portal spending spree for some of the most important positions on the field.

This move will delight some fans and frustrate others who see last season as a sign for a new era to begin in Salt Lake City. However, Whittingham has been the man to bring Utah football to the next level, and if he feels as if a 21st season will benefit the program, then who is to question him with such a resume backing him up?

Now, with Utah's two most pressing questions of the offseason now settled, it is time for Kyle Whittingham and Co. to get to work rebuilding the squad so that they can all prove the 2024 season was nothing more than a one-off fluke.
