Kyle Whittingham Sheds Light on Utah's Tight End Room Following Kuithe Injury
Rob Gray-USA TODAY Sports

The Utes suffered a massive blow when veteran Brant Kuithe, one of the few bright spots in this season's offense, was deemed out for the season at the conclusion of the BYU game.

In his Monday press conference, head coach Kyle Whittingham shed some light on the future of the tight end room and the usage that fans should expect for the final three games of the season.

"Carsen Ryan is a player that's right up there towards the top, Landen King becomes more of a factor for us as hopefully does Caleb Lohner," he said

Fans have been clamoring to see more of King this season, and while an uptick in usage comes as a result of an incredibly unfortunate situation, he looks to be situated as the second tight end on the depth chart behind Ryan.

With three games left in the campaign, fans will be interested to see how offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian will alter the tight-end usage now that Kuithe is out of the picture, and could also potentially give a glimpse at the future of the position moving forward.
