At the end of his radio program this week, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko gave a nudge to the local fan base to come on out to Kyle Field for the 7:45 p.m. EST kickoff against New Mexico State, a night game that is becoming commonplace for the Aggies, who will now have four primetime night games this season.
That's been something of a point of contention around the SEC, especially for Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin, who complained back in late October about the preferential treatment that LSU has gotten when it comes to scheduling primetime games.
"Another night game at Kyle Field,” Elko said of the upcoming contest against NMSU, which is a 39.5-point underdog at BetMGM. “We appreciate those. Apparently, that’s all we play anymore.
When the host of the radio show, Andrew Monaco, piped in with, "And Lane Kiffin's ticked," Elko laughed and responded: "We get them all and Lane wants more, so that’s OK. Him and I, we’ll swap next year or something.”
Kiffin took note of the comments on Thursday morning. "Trade you anytime Coach. Not fair to our fans. Btw check out QB play and scoring at night home and on the road," he wrote on Twitter/X in response. While Elko was lighthearted in his jab at Kiffin, it is an issue Kiffin takes seriously.

Kiffin was disappointed that his team was slated to have only one night game in the SEC this season, which came in an overtime loss to LSU in baton Rouge on Oct. 12. Ole Miss has two games remaining on the schedule, at Florida on Nov. 23 and against Mississippi State on Nov. 29. Both are afternoon games.
