LSU’s new head coach, Lane Kiffin, wants every seat at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center filled on Friday. Following an announcement by the LSU Tigers on X regarding Flau’jae Johnson, Kiffin appealed to the Baton Rouge community to show up at the arena.
The Wednesday post stated that the 13,215-capacity venue would mark Johnson’s “last ride” as she completes her four years with the program.
“One last ride in the PMAC for Big,” LSU Women’s Basketball captioned. “Let’s make it a memorable one, Tiger fans!”
The women’s basketball coach, who has also been emotional, wants Tigers fans to fully support Johnson. That is why Kiffin is calling for a sellout.
The Tigers are beginning the 2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Tournament.
LSU, the No. 2 seed, will face No. 15 Jacksonville Dolphins at the Maravich Center on Friday, March 20, at 5:00 PM CT. If the Tigers win, they will play the winner of the #7 Texas Tech vs. #10 Villanova on Sunday, March 22. These games will be Johnson’s final home appearances, as she arrived as the first McDonald’s All-American signed by Mulkey.
Although Kiffin joined the university in late 2025 after parting ways with the Ole Miss Rebels, he is now fully with the Tigers and commented:
“Let’s sell it out!!!!” Kiffin tweeted.

The team’s star player previously celebrated her final regular-season home game on Feb. 26, when she scored 10 points in an 89-73 win over Tennessee.
Senior guard Johnson was named a third-team AP All-American on Wednesday. She also recently became the sixth player in program history to reach 2,000 career points, joining scorers such as Sylvia Fowles and Seimone Augustus on that elite list.
Speaking recently at a press conference about Johnson’s legacy, Mulkey became emotional. She noted that Johnson stayed at LSU for four years and will also graduate.
“She’s going to be dearly missed, not just in my program, but at this university,” Mulkey said.

The coach also addressed the cost of attending the postseason event, saying that the university does not control ticket prices and urging fans not to complain about the expense.
Johnson, who helped Mulkey and her team win a national championship in 2023, is projected as a top prospect for the 2026 WNBA Draft.
For now, however, the NCAA champions’ focus is not on the draft but on the current tournament:
“This year is about really being here, really being in the moment,” said Johnson, a two-time First-Team All-SEC selection.
Fans will arrive at the arena to watch their star, Flau’jae Johnson, score and compete against the Dolphins, but only time will decide the outcome.
