Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin didn't pass up an opportunity to revisit the final College Football Playoff rankings that kept the Rebels from the postseason in 2024.
Kiffin and Co. sat in a promising position to make their first playoff appearance in program history after taking down No. 2 Georgia in Week 11.
That dominant 28-10 victory propelled a two-loss Ole Miss to No. 9 in the selection committee's rankings with two manageable regular-season games remaining against Florida and Mississippi State.
However, the Rebels ultimately kept themselves out of the final 12 with a head-scratching performance against the Gators, a 24-17 loss on the road.
Kiffin, who has previously voiced his displeasure with being left out, doubled-down in a social media post on Memorial Day by addressing the NCAA Baseball Tournament seeding.
The SEC represents eight of the 16 teams that were designated as national seeds, meaning those programs will host regionals as No. 1 seeds.
Additionally, seven of the top-12 ranked teams are out of the SEC.

7 of top 12 what a system to get the best teams @CFBPlayoff https://t.co/otD6an6f5E
Kiffin's sarcastic statement is a bit cryptic. Based on his previous comments, though, the issue seems to stem from the SEC's competitiveness not being rewarded by the College Football Playoff committee.
All things considered, it's difficult to argue in favor of the Rebels when evaluating last season's seeding. Unranked losses to Kentucky and Florida, along with an overtime loss to LSU, were too much to overcome in the committee's eyes.
Ole Miss should be in contention in 2025 after overhauling its roster through the transfer portal and a talented high school class.
Navigating the SEC schedule, the same slate from the previous season, looms as the largest challenge sitting ahead of a potential postseason berth.
The Rebels will open the season at home against Georgia State on Aug. 30.
