Lincoln Riley Drops Bold USC National Championship Vision

The USC Trojans have been doing decent since their move to the Big Ten Conference. Coach Lincoln Riley and Co. have gone on to win the Cotton Bowl but the goal has always been to claim the College Football Playoff National Championship. Will they be able to get there soon?

Well, USC knows that they have the wealth of talent and system to do so. They are constantly at the top of the rankings for each year's recruiting class. So, Coach Riley went on to declare that the CFP title could be coming soon for the Trojans, via Adam Bradford of USA Today.

"We're building something. And if we continue to take steps towards a championship level, in that direction constantly with the people we bring in, the things that we do, and the way we develop our players, the results that we all want will come. And they are going to come, there's no question about that," the USC football coach said.

Preseason projections have USC winning more than seven games for the first time since Coach Riley got there. Obviously, this is not enough for a squad to get in the CFP. So, the Trojans may just have a chip on their shoulder and the gas to prove analysts wrong.

"We feel that. Everybody in this building feels that. That's why we've been able to bring in the quality of people that we have, and I think why we're all so bullish on the future of USC football," he declared.

There are so many externalities to consider when a team wants to make a national championship push. With the proper amount of confidence, USC might just get to the top. Will they finally end their 21-year title drought?
