Tosh Lupoi and Dan Lanning just got another huge piece of their defense back.

Oregon Ducks junior linebacker Jestin Jacobs will return to Eugene for the 2024 season. He announced the news over social media on Sunday.

"Run it back," Jacobs wrote in an Instagram post.

Jacobs will return to Eugene after playing in only eight games during the 2023 season due to injury. In those eight games he recorded 32 total tackles, 1 sack and 1 pass breakup.

The former Iowa standout made an immediate upon joining the defense against Washington State in late October.

Jacobs is the latest big-name player to announce his return to Oregon after Jeffrey Bassa and Jordan Burch announced they will also be back with the Ducks next season.

Following the departure of senior Jamal Hill, Jacobs projects to line up next to Bassa as one of two starting inside linebackers for Oregon's defense.

Other players that project to be in Oregon's two-deep at inside linebacker are Devon Jackson and Connor Soelle, as well as Jerry Mixon and Brayden Platt among other underclassmen.

It's been an eventful weekend for the Ducks, as their roster for next season continues to take shape with numerous players announcing they'll return for another year. A few other big announcements included tight end Terrance Ferguson and wide receivers Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden.

With Sunday's news of Jacobs' return, the two players that have yet to announce their plans for the 2024 season are along the offensive line in Ajani Cornelius and Marcus Harper II.
