Louisville Cardinals Add To Top Transfer Portal Class; Lands Former Miami Tight End
Sam Navarro-USA TODAY Sports

The Louisville Cardinals have been nailing the transfer portal so far this season. They have gotten over 20 players to commit to the program in just under a month. This team made the ACC Championship Game last season and is looking to challenge Florida State in 2024. They added to their class on Saturday when former Miami Hurricanes tight end Jaleel Skinner announced his commitment to the program.

Louisville Cardinals Add TE Jaleel Skinner

Skinner has had mixed results with Miami. In his freshman season, he caught nine passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. He saw his snaps diminish in 2023 and only appeared in two games. The 6-foot-5, 270-pound tight end hopes to become a huge offensive weapon for the Cardinals. He joins two other tight ends that have committed to the program as head coach Jeff Brohm looks to remake the roster. While he hasn’t produced the stats, Skinner is oozing with potential. Skinner had this to say in a statement.

“Being able to go to Louisville is a blessing. Some of the things that have stood out were the opportunities to be a part of a blossoming program. I was also blessed with the opportunity to go to the same college as my younger sister. Transferring to Louisville brings with it the chance to be a part of a vibrant and supportive community and a great coaching staff.”

2024 Outlook

The Cardinals have a couple of huge non-conference matchups in 2024. In the season’s first four weeks, they must travel to Notre Dame and Kentucky. Those are two tough matchups, and both of them are on the road. From there, the ACC schedule is fairly standard, and the Cardinals do not have to face off against the Seminoles in the regular season slate. Games at Clemson and versus Miami are probably the toughest games on the schedule.

The Louisville Cardinals are loading up on talent for 2024. Can they take the ACC next season and make a push for the College Football Playoff?
