Louisville gets big commitment from 4-star DL

Louisville football has been struggling on the College football recruiting trail. Recently, the Cardinals have dealt with a rash of decomittments, including losing four-star corner Allen Evans IV.

Now, Louisville and Jeff Brohm can celebrate a win on the recruiting trail, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.

Four-star defensive lineman Kadin Fife has committed to Louisville. The 6’5″ and 282-pound defensive lineman had previously been committed to Tennessee. He joined the Volunteers recruiting class in November of 2025, but decided to reopen his recruitment in late June. At the time, it was widely expected that Fife would be going to Georgia, but instead, he has decided to take his talents to Louisville.

Fife now becomes one of the top players for the Cardinals in the Class of 2027. He joins three other blue-chip prospects in the class. Ja’Hyde Brown, a wide receiver out of Louisville, Kentucky, is the top player in the class. Meanwhile, the group also has AJ Tillman, a running back, and D’Angelo White, a four-star athlete, rounding out the blue-chip recruits.

Fife has offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Florida State, and Miami, among others, but decided to go with Brohm as his next head coach. He is the 43rd-ranked defensive lineman in the nation and the 392nd-ranked player overall in the Class of 2027.

While this was a massive win for Louisville, Brohm still has a lot of work to do. Louisville’s class is ranked 30th in the nation and sixth in the ACC. While that is growth from being ranked 13th in the conference in 2026, they still sit well behind Miami and Clemson, creating a bigger gap between the talent at the schools.
