The LSU football staff continues making moves on offense after adding preferred walk-on quarterback Knox Dyson on National Signing Day.
Dyson, a 6-foot-3, 200-pounder out of Oklahoma, revealed his decision on Wednesday after Joe Sloan and Co. extended a preferred walk-on opportunity in Baton Rouge.
During his senior campaign, the signal-caller tossed for over 3,000 yards and 33 touchdowns on his way to being named the 6A1 MVP (2x) and being listed the First Team All-District quarterback.
Now, he'll join a talented room headlined by returnee Garrett Nussmeier who will take control of QB1 duties for the Bayou Bengals in 2024.
Dyson is the third quarterback the Tigers have added this offseason after signing 3-star Colin Hurley in the 2024 cycle while also bringing in Vanderbilt transfer AJ Swann.
The trio of newcomers will join both Nussmeier and redshirt freshman Rickie Collins in the quarterback room this upcoming season.
More on the two additions and the Tigers' other National Signing Day addition in 5-star DL Dominick McKinley:
AJ Swann: Vanderbilt Transfer
The LSU football staff continued doing work behind the scenes after reeling in a commitment from former Vanderbilt quarterback AJ Swann in December.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder arrived in Baton Rouge for a multi-day stay during his visit alongside LSU quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan.
A player this program had their eye on since he entered the Transfer Portal, the Tigers had been working behind the scenes to get him in town.
The former Vanderbilt signal-caller provides the Bayou Bengals with a player who's competed in the SEC and understands the situation he's coming into.
Redshirt sophomore Garrett Nussmeier, who's waited his turn, will certainly have a leg up on the competition this spring, but adding a player of Swann's caliber will give this quarterback room an extra boost.
In his two seasons as a Commodore, Swann made 15 appearances and 12 starts. He started in all six games he played in during the 2023 season, tallying 1,457 passing yards and 12 touchdowns with only seven interceptions.
Entering the 2023 season, Swann was tabbed as Vanderbilt's starting signal-caller before an injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
Now, after making the decision to depart Nashville, he's made his decision to become a Tiger.

The Other National Signing Day Signee: 5-Star DL Dominick McKinley
LSU football signed five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley after the No. 1 player in Louisiana revealed his commitment to the Tigers on New Year's Eve.
McKinley, a coveted defensive tackle from the Bayou State, has now put pen to paper on National Signing Day and will join the LSU program this summer.
Brian Kelly and Co. successfully flipped the top prospect from The Boot after he backed off of his pledge to Texas A&M in December.
McKinley became one of four Aggies to reveal their decision to switch their commitments to LSU, joining five-star OL Weston Davis, four-star DL Gabriel Reliford and Coen Echols.
Now, LSU has reeled in their defensive lineman of the future with McKinley making it official with the Bayou Bengals on Wednesday.
Kelly's staff has done the dirty work in the trenches this offseason after adding much-needed depth to the defensive line with both McKinley and Reliford.
After bringing in Bo Davis to handle defensive line duties, he now has an assortment of talent to work with for the foreseeable future.
On the other side of the ball, Brad Davis has done it again with LSU's offensive line.
It started with talented players such as Ethan Calloway and Joseph Cryer and ended with another five-star in the mix with Weston Davis revealing his commitment.
Now, the 2024 class is complete with five-star Dominick McKinley making it official on National Signing Day.
Despite the Tigers missing on five-star Terry Bussey on Wednesday, LSU pulled away four Texas A&M commitments over the last few months.
The Tigers end the 2024 cycle with 28 high school signees and one JUCO signee in coveted DL Shone Washington.
