The LSU Tigers were one of the streakiest teams in college football during the 2024 season. LSU started the year with a loss to USC and followed it with six straight wins.
Despite their early-season success, they capped off the year with an 8-4 record and a 5-3 mark in SEC play. LSU's three SEC losses came at the hands of Texas A&M, Alabama and Florida, all of which happened in consecutive weeks.
While the Tigers showed flashes of having an elite offense, they struggled mightily on the defensive end, giving up 24.0 points and 357.6 yards per game.
Given the struggles, a recent announcement from former freshman All-American Harold Perkins should excite the Tigers' fan base.
Perkins will return to LSU for the 2025 college football season.

Perkins finished the 2024 college football season with one fumble recovery and 16 tackles in four games. He missed a majority of the year after suffering a torn ACL against the UCLA Bruins on Sept. 21.
The Louisiana native's best numbers came in 2022, when he recorded one interception, three forced fumbles, four pass deflections, 7.5 sacks and 72 tackles.
Perkins originally committed to the Tigers as the No. 2 linebacker and No. 8 overall player in the nation, per 247Sports.
Before signing with LSU, the five-star prospect was heavily recruited by such powerhouse programs as Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas and Georgia.
