The LSU Tigers just put together the seventh overall ranked recruiting class for 2025 and Brian Kelly has his team well on their way to another top ten showing in 2026. However, LSU needs to make sure they actually keep their top players all committed.
Recent reports have already been circulating about LSU possibly losing five star wide receiver Tristen Keys. Now LSU fans might have to worry about another top offensive commit changing his mind.
Kenny Darby is a highly touted four star wide receiver recruit from Louisiana who has been committed to LSU since last November. He quickly rose up the rankings at all major recruiting sites amid what was a wildly productive season last fall.
Darby racked up 100 receptions for nearly 1,800 yards and 24 touchdowns last season, further proving that he's one of the best wide receivers in the nation. When he committed last fall, he joined Jabari Mack as the second wide receiver commit for LSU in the 2026 recruiting class. However, this spring five star Tristen Keys also joined the fold with his commitment.
While it's great to have good teammates around, Darby may be considering going elsewhere late in the process with the extra competition muddying his early opportunity. Where might he go? Well, he took an official visit to Alabama this past weekend and it apparently went well.
Alabama is giving LSU WR commit Kenny Darby plenty to think about following the official visit last week.

Darby has consistently maintained contact and interest with LSU following his commitment, and even joined fellow wide receiver commits Tristen Keys and Jabari Mack for workouts on the field in Baton Rouge the week before taking his visit with Alabama.
It's still quite likely Darby holds his commitment with LSU given the relationships, investment, and excitement surrounding what the Tigers are building with their recruiting, but apparently there's still a final decision to be made between Alabama and LSU.

Darby will be visiting LSU one last time on the weekend of June 21st, then he'll be making his final commitment decision on July 4th. It will come down to the Crimson Tide and the Tigers. This is a bit unusual given that players who are already committed don't go out of their way to do a big commitment ceremony or "decision day" after they've already done so.
However, it could just be that Darby is trying to do his final due diligence before ending up where he's always wanted to be anyway. LSU fans should hope that's the case. Otherwise, Brian Kelly and his staff may be scrambling to fill out their wide receiver recruiting class here soon.
