College football bowl season has been one of the most exciting and unpredictable developments in 2024, and the games have truly delivered. We've witnessed upsets, controversy, and some down-to-the-wire matchups that have kept fans on the edge of their seats over the past week.

Yet, on Tuesday we saw one of the biggest upsets of postseason play thus far in Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida, during the historic ReliaQuest Bowl between the Michigan Wolverines and the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Despite both teams losing key players to the NFL Draft and the transfer portal, the Crimson Tide still had standout talents like Ryan Williams and Jalen Milroe. However, it was Michigan's defense that stole the show, holding Alabama to just 13 total points. The Wolverines' offense was able to muster 19 points, leading the entire way for a stunning victory.

Heading into Tuesday's matchup, many doubted Michigan's chances, especially as the Wolverines were a hefty 17-point underdog to Alabama, according to DraftKings Sportsbook

Under head coach Sherrone Moore, Michigan carried over the momentum from their dramatic win over Ohio State in the regular season finale and shocked the college football world with an impressive victory over Alabama.

This win gave Michigan back-to-back top-15 victories to close out the season. After winning the national championship last season, this year felt like a major let down, but they capped off a remarkable two-game stretch to close out the 2024 campaign.

This win provides not only a sense of accomplishment but also a strong foundation for what could come in 2025, once Michigan addresses its offensive struggles and refines its approach for another championship push.
