Bill Belichick's relationship with Jordon Hudson has been a topic of discussion for the better part of the last year, and most of the stories centered around the matter focus on the age difference between the two.
The 73-year-old football coach is dating the 24-year-old former cheerleader, but the two often share photos and videos from their date nights and time spent with one another.
Some fans and media members are raising concerns after a bizarre interview featuring Belichick on "CBS News Sunday Morning."
Journalist Tony Dokoupil asked Belichick how he and Hudson met, and Hudson - watching the interview elsewhere in the room - replied with "We’re not talking about this."
During Monday's episode of her show, former Fox and NBC News host Megyn Kelly said that Hudson's influence on Belichick suggests serious problems within their relationship.
Kelly said that if the roles were reversed and a younger man was behaving this way toward an older woman, “we’d be accusing him of elder abuse and asking whether he’s guilty of coercive control, and whether this woman is OK.”
“And honestly, I’ve got all those same questions here."
Kelly said that she didn't think answers would come due to Hudson's tight hold on the relationship and, apparently, what Belichick is and isn't allowed to say.
She called Hudson a "monster" for her behavior during the interview, and commented on her apparent need to be in the spotlight during her boyfriend's interview for the release of a new book.
“If the spouse is going to be anyplace, they’re normally, like, behind, out of sight, from both the interviewer and interviewee, so as to not be a distraction,” Kelly said, citing her experience as a journalist.
“Not only was she in sight, but she was a constant distraction. I’m concerned for him.”
According to TMZ, Hudson's influence on the interview was much more expansive than what was shown in the viral clip. Sources say she caused a 30-minute delay after being upset and wanted to storm out with Belichick after frustrations over questions he was being asked.
Dokoupil and others at CBS reportedly felt that several things about the interview were odd, including the fact that Belichick arrived only with Hudson and no other PR staff of his own or from North Carolina.
As the situation develops, it seems that more prominent figures are beginning to question Belichick and Hudson's relationship.
