There's no doubt that the 2025 season was horrible for the Florida State Seminoles, who put together an overall record of 2-10, while going 1-7 in ACC matchups.
However, head coach Mike Norvell has gotten to work ensuring future seasons never get that out of hand. That starts with putting together a strong 2026 recruiting class, featuring 22 commitments and ranking No. 15 in the nation.
The biggest addition to that group is cornerback Chauncey Kennon, who 247Sports has as a five-star recruit, the No. 2 cornerback, the No. 4 player in Florida and the No. 27 player in the nation.
After committing on July 6, Kennon has gotten to work in helping his team land more players. On Sunday, he told Miami Hurricanes commit EDGE Aharri Charles to "Come join the tribe," via an X post.

A potential flip would be huge for Florida State, as 247Sports has Charles ranked as a four-star recruit, the No. 15 EDGE, the No. 17 player in Florida and the No. 147 player in the nation.
Last year for Venice High School, he was extremely impressive, appearing in 14 games, accumulating 107 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 13.5 sacks, 20 hurries, six pass deflections and two forced fumbles.
Kennon's request certainly isn't a far-fetched idea, because despite committing to Miami on June 22, Charles is scheduled to take an official visit with Florida State on Aug. 29 to be in attendance for the Seminoles' Week 1 game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Kennon played at Booker High School, which like Charles' Venice High, is in Sarasota County, Florida.
What makes the opportunity to potentially flip Charles' commitment even more exciting for Florida State is that they've yet to land an EDGE in this year's class, meaning they're certainly on the lookout.
