Former Alabama center William Vlachos is joining the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff as the assistant offensive line coach.

Vlachos got into coaching a year after his college football career ended. The Alabama native served on several coaching staffs including Alabama, the Buffalo Bills, Colorado, Western Kentucky, Central Michigan, and Ole Miss.

He was a member of Alabama’s football team from 2007-2011. Vlachos was a part of two national championship teams at Alabama. He was a First-team All-SEC selection in 2011. In addition, he played in 48 games for the Crimson Tide. He was a key offensive lineman for Alabama for several years.

Vlachos will join a former colleague in Miami head coach Mario Cristobal. The two coaches alongside one another from 2013-2016. The Hurricanes have become an interesting team to follow and one that is seemingly trending in the right direction. Vlachos should be a huge help for the offensive line unit in 2025.
