Miami Hurricanes head coach Mario Cristobal has established himself as one of college football's most successful recruiters. An amazing 2026 class, which ranks No. 12 in the nation and No. 1 in the ACC, is proof.
Cristobal continues to set his sights on the future, which includes class of 2028 wide receiver Brysen Wright from Jacksonville, Florida.
He was in Coral Gables to watch the Hurricanes defeat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Aug. 31 and will be back for their matchup Saturday against the Florida Gators.
With Wright set to visit Miami twice in the young 2025 season, it's clear the program is catching his eye. He confirmed that in an article by Rivals' Chad Simmons.
“My interest in Miami is definitely there," Wright said. "It’s one of the schools I have more interest in. I like how they’re playing, and I know the coaches well, so my interest is high.”
There's no doubt Cristobal is pushing hard for the pass catcher. He would be a major addition, as Rivals places him as the nation's No. 1 recruit.
It could be the second time in just three cycles that Miami brings in the top prospect, after landing offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell in the 2026 class.
However, the Hurricanes are far from the only team interested in Wright, as Rivals' Steve Wiltfong previously reported, "He aims to get back to Ohio State and Miami for games this fall. Texas is also a program he has a lot of intrigue in and is trying to get a trip to Texas on the itinerary as well."
Getting a recruit of this significance is no easy task, but Cristobal has a proven ability to do so. If he wants to come out on top, though, the Hurricanes will need to fight hard.
Luckily, as evident by Wright's own words, it appears that Miami is already impressing in this high-powered battle.
