Former University of Michigan administrator Greg Harden passed away on Friday following complications during a medical procedure on Monday.
“Long-time University of Michigan administrator Greg Harden, best known as the mental coach for thousands of student-athletes who competed for the university and countless others around the world, has passed away after complications from surgery. During his time at Michigan, Harden became known in many circles as the school’s ‘Secret Weapon’ for his work behind the scenes helping Wolverines athletes achieve peak performance,” a statement from Michigan said.
Harden became well-known within the Michigan community for his work with countless athletes, including guys like Tom Brady, Jalen Rose, and Desmond Howard. In fact, Howard once said that he wouldn't have won the Heisman trophy in 1991 if not for Harden's influence.
Following the news of his passing, the Michigan community took to social media to honor a man who had such a positive impact on those around him.
