The Michigan Wolverines thrived during the Jim Harbaugh regime on the strength of powerful running backs including Donovan Edwards, Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins.
Now, coach Sherrone Moore's team is doing everything in its power to stack the Wolverines' backfield with top running backs to keep Michigan's running game in a position of strength.
On Wednesday, the nation's top running back prospect in the Class of 2026 posted a picture on social media that showed a strong indication of how much the Wolverines value highly ranked prospect Savion Hiter, who was recently listed as the nation's top running back in his class.
"Appreciate @UMichFootball for making the trip #GoBlue," Hiter wrote on his X account as tagged Moore, running backs coach Tony Alford, offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, general manager Sean Magee, and offensive line coach Grant Newsome.

Hiter is ranked as the nation's top running back and has drawn interest from Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, Tennessee and Virginia, all of whom have offered the 5-foot-11 1/2, 190 pound prospective recruit.
Some analysts have said Michigan is in the pole position for the Mineral, Virginia native Hiter, while Ohio State and Georgia are also considered among the favorites for the Class of 2026 superstar's pledge.
