The transfer portal officially opened up on Monday and players are free to talk to schools.

The Wolverines have done an incredible job at offering and getting players who enter the portal. Michigan got several big-time contributors last season in the portal and I would expect the Wolverines will be an enticing place for players to want to go this season as well.

Michigan already offered Penn DT Joey Slackman who is one of the top defensive tackles in the portal.

The Wolverines have offered another top player. Western Michigan safety Upton Stout entered the transfer portal on November 27 and several schools have sent offers his way.

Michigan offered Stout on Monday.

Stout is the No. 34 player in the transfer portal and the top-ranked safety, according to 247Sports.

Stout originally committed to North Texas where he played two seasons before transferring to Western Kentucky where he played another two seasons.

Stout made an immediate impact on the Hilltoppers' defense when he transferred in 2022. He was seventh on the team in '22 with 44 tackles and led the team with four interceptions.

This year, Stout only played in seven games, but he still accounted for 29 tackles and an interception.

Stout has been offered by USC, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Ole Miss, among others.
