Michigan football has shored up its quarterback situation in a healthy way this offseason, bringing in transfer Mikey Keene from Fresno State along with the nation's top incoming freshman, Bryce Underwood.
The Wolverines have also looked to the future with the procurement of a pledge from class of 2026 four-star quarterback Brady Smigiel.
On Monday, a Wolverines announcement at the team's recent offseason camp was revealed by a Class of 2027 quarterback prospect who hails from Michigan's backyard and has a chance to put himself in the mix to become one of Sherrone Moore's next signal callers in Ann Arbor.
"Blessed to be named Camp MVP at Michigan's camp today!" quarterback Duke Banta of Detroit (Novi) Catholic Central wrote on X.
"Thank you for the experience and can't wait to be back," he added, tagging Michigan OC Chip Lindsey and coach Moore among others.

"'100,'" a fan wrote using the '100' emoji with three flexing arm emojis and a "congratulations" comment under Banta's post.
Banta has not been given a star ranking by On3.com but holds an offer from the Central Michigan Chippewas and has received interest from the Wolverines and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
He plays for a traditional high school powerhouse and stands 6-feet-2 inches tall, weighing in at 162 pounds.
Banta will likely need to add size and strength in the weight room as his recruiting oddysey continues to heat up heading into the fall football season.
The Wolverines have shown they are capable of recruiting top prospects on the national scene, adding to the competition that Banta will face in the coming seasons for a scholarship offer.
