Michigan football coach Sherrone Moore and the rest of Wolverine nation received good news on Thursday as the nation's number one overall prospect, Bryce Underwood, announced his commitment to Michigan after months as an LSU pledge.

The Belleville, Michigan quarterback is expected to compete for playing time in his first year on campus, a development that was not lost on Michigan fans who have suffered this season through subpar play at the position.

One of Michigan's current quarterbacks, Alex Orji, shared his thoughts on the Underwood pledge in an Instagram story Thursday that coincided with the mostly unexpected news update.

While Orji is still a junior and figures to factor into the Wolverines' quarterback race and/or rotation next season, he could not contain his excitement upon hearing of the Underwood commitment.

"Heeeeeeeeeem," Orji wrote on his Instagram account, sharing his thoughts on the number one Class of 2025 recruit in the nation with his 99,300 followers.

The Wolverines are expected to go into next season with several options at the position including heralded Class of 2024 recruit Jaydn Davis, current starter Davis Warren, Orji, and Jayden Denegal.

The possibility of adding a quarterback in the transfer portal has also been discussed, although Moore appears to be playing his cards close to his vest as the Wolverines prepare for their final two games of the 2024-2025 season.
