Former Alabama running back Justice Haynes has been taking the college football world by storm since transferring to play for the Michigan Wolverines this past offseason. The 5-11, 210-pound junior tailback is currently tied for third in the country in rushing yards with 537 in four games. He has also rushed for six touchdowns, while averaging a healthy 8.1 yards per carry.
The change of scenery has done wonders for Haynes, and we are starting to see the five-star talent he was once billed as coming out of Buford High School in the state of Georgia. While we will continue to marvel over the big plays Haynes is making on the college level every week, it turns out that the Wolverines are not the only talented team he chose to join over the last few months.
Haynes has recently partnered with Loom, a revolutionary juice company that has the initiative to deliver a delicious product while providing a much healthier alternative. Loom, which is already in over 3,500 stores nationwide, has coined itself as the "juice of the future". With a ton of experience in the industry prior, there was an urge to create a product to supplement the unhealthy juice brands that are already out there, but also not sacrifice taste.
Bill Butrymowicz is the founder and CEO of Loom Brands Inc. and has a long history in the distribution business, working with brands like Bodyarmour in his career. Even with so many successes in this industry, Butrymowicz could not be more excited for the potential of Loom. It is a category that, according to him, has been ignored far too often.
"When you look at the juice options that are out there, there really isn't anything that gives you everything you are looking for," Butrymowicz said. "Either the juice tastes great but is way too sugary, or it tastes awful with no sugar. There just wasn't a great product out there that gave you everything."
The idea for Loom actually began in Butrymowicz's household, where he struggled himself with what to give to his young children. It was a battle he felt daily.
"I remember trying to find something good to give my kids," he explained. "You would look at the label on the back and almost cringe while looking at the sugar and other things that were in it. We would do the old trick of putting water in their cup, but I couldn't understand why nobody was making something better."
That created the idea for Loom, and the rest is history. As Loom has created buzz within the industry, they have pushed to find some like-minded individuals to come along for the ride as they continue to grow. That led them to Haynes, as well as former South Carolina wide receiver Antwane "Juice" Wells, and developed organic relationships with people who believed in the vision.
"We are so excited to have Justice as a part of our team," Butrymowicz told A to Z Sports. "He is a great guy, loves the product, and what we are building. It was such a natural relationship. We have had the chance to hang out a bunch together and develop a great relationship."
As for Haynes' role, Loom is something that he uses on a daily basis. Being a major Division I athlete isn't easy, especially when it comes to nutrition. Loom provided him with something that he was looking for.
“I’m very strict having the amount of protein I need to have," Haynes said. "I eat very clean, keep track of all that stuff. And to go with that, Loom was a great fit for me. It’s just the benefits that Loom has with it being a natural juice.
“Yes, it does give you that good flavor and a good taste, because it’s a great drink, but it’s also the aspect of how Loom is great to support you," Haynes continued. "Like you see a lot of these other juices that have all these sugars and stuff like that. I personally, I stay away from sugars a lot.”
Having used Loom in my own household, it is very easy to back up the endorsements from both Butrymowicz and Haynes. They have themselves a great product, and it feels like one that could rise in the industry rapidly. From the health-conscious users to your average mom and dad, Loom leaves everyone satisfied with the quality and taste.
