Key Points:

  • Michigan's sellout streak hit a new level
  • The Wolverines prepared to face Ohio State
  • A four-game win streak is on the line

The Michigan Wolverines entered Saturday's game against Ohio State as 10.5-point underdogs, one season after overcoming a 20-plus point spread last year in Columbus.

The Wolverines came into Saturday almost certainly needing a win to secure a spot in the second-ever 12-team College Football Playoff.

Fans packed 'The Big House' in Ann Arbor as they continued an impressive sellout streak with the two teams ready to do gridiron battle in 'The Game.'

Michigan Extends Sellout Streak

The Wolverines' sellout streak reached 56 games according to Fox Big Noon Kickoff host Rob Stone, who led a panel including Brady Quinn, Urban Meyer, Charles Woodson and Matt Leinart.

The number is dwarfed by Michigan's record of 300-plus games sold out in a row, which ended in 2020 due to COVID restrictions.

Moore Shares Advice for Bryce Underwood

Michigan coach Sherrone Moore was interviewed by Tom Rinaldi just prior to kickoff and was asked what advice he has for QB Bryce Underwood.

Moore said that Underwood needs to avoid pressing, to trust his reads and have fun.

Prior to the Moore question, Ohio State coach Ryan Day warned the Buckeyes would "attack from the jump."

Marshall Helps Wolverines Start Strong

Wolverines starting running back Jordan Marshall helped his team get off to a strong start with a 35-yard run, one week after missing Michigan's road contest at Maryland with a shoulder injury.

Marshall, a former Ohio Mr. Football Award winner, took over for injured former starter Justice Haynes earlier in the season and looked to continue Michigan's recent tradition of winning the rushing battle against their arch rivals to the south.

Michigan went with an empty backfield on the opening drive with star fullback Max Bredeson battling an injury that put him on crutches with a walking boot during the Maryland game.
