The offense wasn’t dominant, but it did its part last season.
It controlled the clock, moved the chains as well as anyone in the nation, and there weren’t many wasted trips in the red zone. Expect more of the same.
There might be several big losses at the skill spots, but the depth and portal should pop through in another solid year.

- No, Brady Cook didn’t take over for Brad Smith, but it does seem like he was around for a long, long time. Sharp in his fifth season, he only threw two picks, was in command of the attack, and now Mizzou has a quarterback battle to replace him.
Sam Horn was a good get for the program last year. He has a live arm - he pitches for the baseball team - and will be in a fight for the gig with Penn State transfer Beau Pribula this fall.
The former Nittany Lion got in enough work over the last two years to be ready to hit the ground running, almost literally. He’s a dangerous option out of the backfield with 571 rushing yards and ten scores.
- You don’t get better after losing receivers with the talent of Luther Burden and Theo Wease. Marquis Johnson is back after finishing second on the team with 352 yards, and Joshua Manning and tight end Brett Norfleet are solid. The star, though, will be Mississippi State transfer Kevin Coleman, coming off a 74-catch, 932-yard, six-touchdown season.
- The line has a few big parts to replace - Armand Membou should be great for the Jets - but Keagen Trost was a strong signing from Wake Forest for one of the tackle spots. Michigan’s Dominick Giudice can work at center, but he’ll kick to guard with Connor Tollison the man in the middle. Cayden Green has next-level upside at left guard.
- The combination of Nate Noel and Marcus Carroll ran for over 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns. Those two were terrific, but Ahmad Hardy is an upgrade - he ran for 1,351 yards and 13 touchdowns for ULM last season. Jamal Roberts is a tough sophomore who finished third among the Tiger backs.
