Five-star athlete Lamar Brown committed to the LSU Tigers on Thursday over the Texas Longhorns and Texas A&M Aggies.

Brown is from University Laboratory School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is a member of the 2026 recruiting class. He is considered a multi-sport athlete and is a track and field star when not playing football.

Brown plays on both sides of the ball as an offensive lineman and defensive tackle. He earned MaxPreps Junior All-American first-team honors for his work on the offensive line this season, according to his 247Sports profile.

He also showcased his talent in the Polynesian Bowl in Hawaii on Jan. 16. Brown joins a 2026 Tigers recruiting class that is ranked No. 7 in the country.

The group of incoming LSU commits is composed of five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys, five-star edge rusher Trenton Henderson, four-star defensive tackle Richard Anderson and four-star offensive tackle Brysten Martinez.

Following his commitment, Brown wrote on X that he is more focused on helping his high school team improve as he prepares for his senior season.

“Now that I’m committed, I get to turn all my attention to my boys going into my final season of high school,” he shared on Friday.

“Whatever happened last year didn’t define us, it made us better and more HUNGRY for this season.”

Last season, the University Laboratory’s varsity football team finished 0-11. Despite the winless junior season, Brown showed his love for the team.

“I have mad love for every player and coach on this staff ❤️,” he concluded.
