The Miami Hurricanes could be on the verge of landing the pledge of a current commitment to an SEC powerhouse.
Four-star wide receiver Vance Spafford out of Mission Viejo, CA, who is a Georgia Commit, is now predicted to flip to the Canes, according to On3 Sports recruiting insiders Chad Simmons and Steve Wiltfong.

Spafford ranks as the #85 overall player, #11 WR, and #11 player in California in On3 Sports' most recent industry ratings. He's also considering Oregon and Washington in addition to the Canes and Bulldogs.
It stands to reason that Spafford would have a strong interest in Miami, particularly after the 2024 season. Miami receiver Xavier Restrepo finished a legendary career with a year to remember, posting 69 catches for 1127 yards and 11 touchdowns on the way to first-team All-American honors. The 5'11", 175 pound Spafford could fill a similar role in offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson's offense.
Miami has been making waves recently regarding pass catching recruits, also being favored to land four-star WR Tyren Evans, who de-committed from Tennessee last week. They're also received crystal balls from On3 Sports to land Duncanville, Texas athlete Zachery Turner, who projects as a tight end.
We'll see in the coming days if Cristobal can close the deal with Spafford and a number of other targets as Miami looks to climb higher in the top 10 of the team rankings.
