Nation's No. 2 Recruit Sends Clear Message After LSU's Latest Recruiting Blow

LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly has been hard at work with the 2026 recruiting class. With 16 commitments, the Tigers rank No. 6 in the SEC and No. 11 in the nation.

However, LSU suffered a big loss on Friday in the form of four-star offensive tackle Emanuel Tucker. Despite being pledged to the Tigers since June 12, he flipped his commitment to the Ole Miss Rebels.

It has created a lot of frustration surrounding the program, including from LSU athlete commit Lamar Brown, who ranks as the nation's No. 2 recruit according to Rivals Industry Rankings.

Following Tucker's flip, Brown took to social media to say, "Who actually wanna be a Tiger and win a natty either you with us or you not #TigerBait #GeauxTigers."

Brown's frustrations are valid, as Tucker becomes the fourth player to decommit from the Tigers in this cycle alone.

Five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys (Tennessee), four-star defensive lineman JaReylan McCoy (Florida) and four-star wide receiver Jakai Anderson (SMU) have flipped away from LSU.

Brown's fiery message certainly captures the current mood in Baton Rouge. With most of the top recruits in the 2026 class already committed, LSU would need to seek a few flips of its own to make any more splashes.

LSU Losing Commitments is Nothing New

It's an unfortunate trend the LSU program has dealt with in two straight years, also seeing nine players flip in the 2025 class.

That included three five-star players in the quarterback Bryce Underwood (Michigan), wide receiver Dakorien Moore (Oregon) and cornerback Kade Phillips (Texas).

Losing several high-profile prospects in consecutive cycles puts more pressure on Kelly and raises questions about LSU's long-term recruiting stability.
