Nebraska Cornhuskers star quarterback Dylan Raiola has had a fantastic start to the 2025 college football season. Before Saturday's game against the No. 23 USC Trojans, Raiola had led Nebraska to a 6-2 record, while completing 72.8% of his passes for 1,909 yards and 17 touchdowns with six interceptions.

Raiola was a five-star recruit coming out of Buford High School in Georgia in the 2024 class. He was the No. 7 overall recruit in the class and the No. 2 quarterback, trailing only Florida'sDJ Lagway, according to 247Sports.

After an up-and-down freshman year under head coach Matt Rhule in 2024, going 7-6 with 13 touchdowns and 11 interceptions, Raiola has been incredible in 2025.

On Saturday, in Nebraska's 21-17 loss against USC, Raiola went down with an injury after being sacked by multiple Trojans defenders in the third quarter. He appeared to have his ankle twisted beneath the defenders.

After going out with this injury, Raiola was ruled out for the remainder of the game. He was replaced by backup quarterback TJ Lateef, who went 5-of-7 passing for seven yards to finish the game.

Before he left the game, Raiola went 10-of-15 passing for 91 yards and one touchdown. After the loss, Rhule gave an update on Raiola's injury.

"From a medical perspective, they were like, 'he can't run,'" Rhule said in the postgame press conference. "The trainers didn't want him to go out there. I know he's had a history with that ankle and he was in a lot of pain on the field, so when I walked off the field, I didn't think he'd be able to go."

If Raiola is unable to play in his team's upcoming games, it would be a big blow for Nebraska, which faces three straight Big Ten opponents in its final regular-season games.

The first of these three comes against the UCLA Bruins (3-5, 3-2 Big Ten) next Saturday at the Rose Bowl.
