The Nebraska Cornhuskers aren't necessarily turning a ton of heads with the guys they are getting for their 2026 class. But that doesn't mean the class isn't good. They know who they want, and they don't care about star rankings.
They rank these guys on their own scale, not some site that has guys who have never played. So, they may feel like a player who is ranked a three-star is really worth a four-star rating. One of those guys that kind of fits that description just made a very nice play that you don't usually see players his age or size make.
Luke Sorensen, a standout tight-end prospect from the 2026 class, from Servite High School in Anaheim, California, is one of the bigger names in terms of weapons in the Huskers' 2026 class.
His impressive performance on the field has attracted attention from numerous college programs, driven by his imposing physical attributes, but the Huskers were the ones who ended up grabbing him, helping their class tremendously. Standing at 6'4" and weighing between 230 and 245 pounds, Sorensen combines size with unexpected athleticism, something Nebraska could use in a few years.
He is a three-star rating from 247Sports, where he ranks as the No. 54 tight end and No. 140 overall player in California, while Rivals awards him four stars, placing him as the No. 19 tight end and No. 32 player in the state. With over 25 scholarship offers, top programs such as Penn State, Ole Miss, Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, USC, Notre Dame, and Alabama all wanted him. But only Nebraska could get him.

Recently, a video of him surfaced, taken by Eric Sondheimer, of Sorensen making a wonderful play.
It's very obvious that this kid can play, and the Huskers need that. They could especially be given the opportunity to pair Sorensen with quarterback Dylan Raiola, who has yet to have a weapon of Sorensen’s caliber in the Huskers’ offense. But Raiola could be gone for the draft by the time Sorensen sees real playing time on the field.
