College recruiting season is in high gear and the Nebraska Cornhuskers just had a three-star tight end from California commit to their program. Luke Sorensen, out of Servite High School, made his voice heard on Friday night, June 20.

Sorensen had the cameras rolling and 247Sports was on hand for the big announcement. The college football website shared the video on its Instagram account. Sorensen had Nebraska, Ole Miss, and Penn State hats in front of him.

After making some comments, Sorensen picked up the Nebraska hat and gave Cornhuskers head coach Matt Rhule some great news heading into the weekend.

Sorensen looked pretty happy with his decision and offered some reasons behind his selection. "What set Nebraska apart for me wasn't just the tradition of a historically dominant and winning program," he said, Sports Illustrated reported.

"In the end, it was the culture of the program, the character of the coaches, and the expectation to perform and win at a high level, not just for next season but for the future of the university," he said. "They believe in me not just as a player, but as a person."

Sorensen also made his choice known as he posted a comment and photo to his X account.

What type of player is Rhule getting for his offensive plans? "Sorenson is a high major prospect at the tight end position and is on the short list when talking about the best in-line blocking tight ends in the country," Greg Biggins, National Recruiting Analyst for 247Sports, wrote.

"He wasn’t featured a ton in Servite’s passing game as a junior, primarily because the quarterback situation at the school was unsettled but we’ve seen him at multiple events this off-season and he showed the ability to get vertical and win multiple jump ball battles."

Sorensen will finish up his high school football career at Servite, then head on out to Lincoln, Neb.
