The Ohio State Buckeyes just got a whole lot stronger. With a string of in-state commitments, including offensive linemen Maxwell Riley and now Sam Greer, Ohio State is stacking up for a big run in 2026. Under head coach Ryan Day, the Buckeyes have consistently remained a powerhouse, and this latest recruiting success only adds more fuel to their fire.
Day’s commitment to building dominant lines on both sides of the ball is paying off and Sam Greer is already proving he’s worth the hype.
On March 25, four-star offensive tackle Greer from Akron officially committed to Ohio State University, choosing the Buckeyes over Missouri, Florida, and Tennessee. Ranked as the No. 14 tackle in the 2026 class by On3, Greer wasted no time getting to work.
Just days after his commitment, a new video from the Rivals Five-Star Challenge in Indianapolis shows him putting in serious work and even taking on fellow Buckeyes commit Khary Wilder in a fierce one-on-one.

Greer, who looked every bit the future Big Ten star, was seen in the clip charging and locking up with Wilder, showing both strength and technique that’ll make Ohio State fans excited for what’s coming. The young tackle has clearly embraced the grind early, proving he's not just talking the talk.
“AGTG, best in Ohio stay in Ohio, GO Bucks,” Greer told Hayes Fawcett of On3. He also posted, “It’s been an amazing journey... I’ll be forever thankful. In the end I’ve decided to commit to THEE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY!!!”
