A former four-star recruit out of Pickerington Central High School in Pickerington, Ohio, where he was the fifth recruit from his state and the 18th WIDE RECEIVER in the 2021 recruiting cycle.
Styles Jr. initially attended Notre Dame University, where he secured 54 of 79 passes for 684 yards with two touchdowns across the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
He transferred to Ohio State after the 2022 season. He was a four-star recruit in the portal and was the 43rd wide receiver, 190th overall player. He made the switch to defensive back upon arriving at Ohio State.
Lorenzo Styles Jr. is the older brother of Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles.
Styles played 570 defensive snaps in college, with 405 of them during the 2025 season. 351 of his defensive college snaps were played in the slot and 144 as a free safety – he profiles as a sub-package defensive back.
Styles Jr. is a national champion from the Buckeyes win in 2024. Lorenzo and Sonny’s father, Lorenzo Styles Sr. was a standout linebacker at Ohio State and played six seasons in the NFL.
Lorenzo Styles Jr. possesses a fantastic – and explosive – athletic profile. He took the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine by storm with his 4.27 forty-yard-dash (fastest at the combine) and his explosive 1.49s 10-yard split.
The brother of Sonny Styles does not have much experience playing defense, though, and that’s evident on his film.
Still, he makes for a high end special teams asset who can effectively be a sub-package defensive back, while having the upside to develop into something much more dynamic.
