Jacksonville Jaguars assistant coach Tyler Tettleton has interviewed for a college head coaching job.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, Tettleton interviewed for the gig at Ohio University. It would be like a "welcome home" moment for Tettleton if he gets the job since he spent five seasons as a quarterback at Ohio, throwing for 9,129 yards, 67 touchdowns, and 28 interceptions.

He was Ohio's passing-game coordinator and running backs coach in 2021 before the Jaguars poached him in 2022 and hired him as their assistant running backs coach. He's in his third season with the Jaguars and is also a passing-game specialist.

Tettleton got his first job as a coach in 2015 when he got hired by Oklahoma as a graduate assistant. He spent three seasons with the program before joining the New York Jets as a pro personnel intern in 2018.

He was with the Jets for one season before spending the 2019 season with the Cleveland Browns as their offensive quality control coach. After that, he went to LSU and was the program's offensive analyst.

He has a lot of experience as a position coach and an analyst so the timing could be right for him to be a head coach.

The Bobcats are coming off a 10-3 regular season and will play Jacksonville State in the Cure Bowl on Friday, December 20. The Bobcats won this year's MAC Title but lost head coach Tim Albin to the Charlotte 49ers.

Albin agreed to become the 49ers head coach once the Bobcats won the MAC.

Time will tell if Tettleton gets the gig but in the meantime, his focus will be on helping the Jaguars beat the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday.

Kickoff will be at 4:25 p.m. ET.
