Penn State quarterback Drew Allar has Penn State two wins away from winning a national title.
Penn State will play Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl for the right to advance to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game. Allar was great in Penn State's Fiesta Bowl win over Boise State, finishing with 171 yards through the air and three touchdowns.
That performance was another stellar one in a season that has been full of them. He's thrown for 3,192 yards through the air with 24 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
As of right now, he won't be declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft since he's told the program that he's returning for another year, which might help his draft stock. However, Dane Brugler of The Athletic reports that several NFL general managers believe that Allar could change his mind and enter the draft if he has a strong CFP run with Penn State.
It would certainly throw a small wrench in the draft process since Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward are the two best quarterbacks entering this year's draft.
According to uSTADIUM, one NFL front office executive says the league is a lot higher on Allar than fans and media are and he will be a lot of teams' QB1 if he changes his mind.
There is a chance that Allar would be a first-round pick in this year's draft if he continues this level of play in the CFP and changes his mind about the draft process. It would give teams another QB1 option since after Sanders and Ward, the level of play from other quarterbacks drops.
Fans will get to see Allar play in another game when the Nittany Lions take on the Fighting Irish in the Orange Bowl on January 9.
Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
