Travis Hunter is ready to hear his named called during the first round of the 2025 NFL draft this evening. After a 2024 season with the Colorado Buffaloes that ended with a Heisman Trophy win, Hunter is expected to be taken with the No. 2 overall pick by the Cleveland Browns.
Of course, that is not a done deal, but all reports coming out have that being his expected landing spot.
Leading up to the draft, a big storyline surrounding Hunter has been his desire to play both ways at the NFL level. During his college career, he was a standout at both wide receiver and cornerback.
Whoever takes him will have to make a final decision, but the NFL has revealed their thoughts on the matter.
In a post from the official NFL account on X, it was announced that Hunter is receiving two draft cards. One of them has him listed as a wide receiver, while the other has him listed as a defensive back.

Now, he'll simply need to convince his new team to let him play both sides of the ball.
During the 2024 college football season, Hunter was a monster at wide receiver. He caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. On defense, he totaled 35 tackles to go along with a forced fumble, four interceptions, and 11 defended passes.
Back in March, Hunter responded to Travis Kelce's comments about having to prove that he can play both sides of the ball at the NFL level. He's ready to take on the challenge and show that he can do it.
"Like he said, I have to prove that I can do it. So that's my main thing," Hunter said. "Imma prove that I'm gonna do it and I can do it. So he's not telling no lie. I still got to prove it. You know, I just can't go to the league and they just, 'Oh, here you go, Trav, you could do all this,' and I don't go out and show up how I'm supposed to show up."
