Nick Saban showed off his Ferrari during recruiting visit

Alabama head coach Nick Saban is always willing to go the extra mile to lock down a recruit for his team. His latest recruiting tactic has gone viral on social media.

Saban hosted legacy recruit Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. and other recruits for a visit this weekend at the Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa. The high school safety’s father Dre Kirkpatrick played defensive back for Saban from 2009-11 before forging a 10-year career in the NFL.

But despite a probable Crimson-colored bias within the Kirkpatrick household, Saban still brought out the big guns — or rather, the big cars — to impress the youngster.

Saban showed off his red Ferrari and even revved the engine for the younger Kirkpatrick, who asked to hear “how it sounds.”

Kirkpatrick Jr. is a three-star recruit according to 247 Sports, and he has already committed to playing for Alabama.

The 6-foot safety plays for Gadsden City High School in Alabama. 247 ranked Kirkpatrick as the 42nd-best recruit in the state and 102nd-best nationally at his position.

Saban’s recruiting tactics may rub some potential recruits the wrong way. But it’s hard to argue with the results given the recruiting classes he’s produced in Alabama over the years.
