Nick Saban’s Daughter Reveals She’s ‘Stepping Away’ After ‘Hateful Comments’
Gary Cosby Jr.-USA TODAY Sports

This season has been a little different for Nick Saban and his daughter, Kristen Saban, following his offseason retirement as head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The university brought in Kalen DeBoer as his replacement, and since then, the Sabans have experienced Alabama football from a whole new perspective. While they are still beloved members of the Tuscaloosa community and are always welcome on campus, their direct connection to the program has shifted.

On Sunday, Kristen Saban took to Instagram to share a story that hinted at yet another change ahead. This time, however, the change is on her terms.

She claims she is "stepping away from sharing anything football/family related" after receiving hateful comments about her outfit and the way she walks.

"It's really disappointing to see such hateful comments from a fan base I thought as friends/family for the last 17 years over an outfit and the way I walk (I have had an Achilles injury/abnormality since birth)," she said. "For my own sanity, I am stepping away from sharing anything football/family related. Thank god for retirement."

Late Saturday night, Kristen Saban shared a post from the Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn, showing off her gameday outfit. She also limited who could comment on the post.

Alabama's regular season came to an end on Saturday night with a 28-14 win over Auburn. The Tide finished 9-3 in the regular season during DeBoer's first season at the helm.
