Lamar Brown reminds one scout of Mike Pouncey. However, Brown, the No. 1 defensive lineman in 247Sports' composite rankings, might not play on the offensive side of the trenches on the collegiate level. He visited Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns this weekend.

Brown was originally scheduled to take a trip to see the Florida State Seminoles, but chose to head to Austin instead. He appeared to like what he saw on the Forty Acres.

"Everything is BIGGER in Texas," Brown wrote Saturday on X with an emoji of two exclamation points, another imitating the Longhorns' horns gesture, and one more of a thumbs-up.

247Sports scouting analyst Gabe Brooks, who compares Brown to Pouncey, spoke highly of Brown in a scouting report he wrote in March. Right now, Brown is still listed on recruiting services as an athlete because he hasn't yet decided on a set position.

"Legitimate high-level two-way prospect as an interior O-lineman or potentially front-line defender," Brooks said. "Projected for many months to IOL as a physical, athletic difference maker who could potentially provide across-the-front O-line versatility in college.

"However, indicates desire to play defense, which obviously must be considered in evaluation. Stout, athletic build that fosters sudden athleticism and explosive movements. Enforcer on tape."

Brooks added that Brown "possesses legitimate high-round NFL Draft potential."

Brown was a MaxPreps first-team junior All-American as an offensive lineman. He earned the same honors as a sophomore. Brown previously visited the Miami Hurricanes on May 30. He's scheduled to take trips to Texas A&M (June 13) and LSU (June 20).
