Hollywood Smothers has committed to Alabama football. Smothers is a former North Carolina State running back.

The talented back rushed for 939 yards and six touchdowns on 160 carries in 2025 with the Wolf Pack. He also pulled in 37 receptions for another 189 receiving yards.

Alabama is set to lose the services of Jam Miller, Richard Young and Dre Washington. The Tide is on pace to hold on to Kevin Riley, Daniel Hill and AK Dear. Smothers will join this room alongside true freshmen, Ezavier Crowell and Trae’shawn Brown.

Alabama football’s rushing attack left a lot to be desired in 2025. No Crimson Tide running back who carried the football more than 20 times averaged four or more yards a carry.

Jam Miller was Alabama’s leading rusher with 520 yards, despite him missing or being limited in several games with various injuries.

Smothers will be tasked with helping get Alabama football’s run game back on track.
