The Notre Dame Fighting Irish fell short of their ultimate goal of winning their first national championship in nearly four decades against Ohio State this past January, but coach Marcus Freeman and the Irish have continued to forge a new path ahead.
The Fighting Irish's Class of 2025 ranks 12th in the country heading toward the spring college football season, which is expected to center around the team's search for a new quarterback to replace departing superstar Riley Leonard.
On Saturday, Freeman shared an update about his son Vinny's exploits on the wrestling mat that showed the successful nature of the Freeman family once again.
"Congrats on getting your 100th win and finishing third @IHSAA1 (Indiana High School Athletic Association) State Wrestling Championships," Freeman said along with the hashtag 'VinnysDad.'
Vinny Freeman previously received a visit from University of Michigan wrestling coach Sean Bormet. The younger Freeman is a 5-foot-11, 190 pound wrestler who wrestles in the 175 pound weight division and also stars on the football field.
Coach Freeman's Fighting Irish are expected to host their annual Blue and Gold spring game on April 12, 2025 at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana 2 p.m. ET, a game that will be broadcast on NBC's Peacock network.
